Structuring Identity: Conscious Coaching Practices Led by Jacqueline Springfield with Josh FS Moser

This advanced training session is offered to foster conscious coaching practices from a Fitzmaurice Voicework® perspective. Utilizing the Fitzmaurice Voicework’s principles, and some additional tools, How can we develop empathy in ourselves and our students? What tools do we have to be active accomplices for communities needing our support?
In justice driven voice and speech training, focus is given to speech and accent intersection with identity, and moving away from prescriptive standards. The same energy can be used when working with the voice. ‘Standards’ and ‘rigor’ in relationship to speaking or singing voice tend to be used as ways to teach adherence to a specific vocal aesthetic, namely ‘full, forward placed’ voice. We seek to unpack the idea of rigorous practice with relationship to identity in voice teaching and coaching. We invite utilization and exploration of the full depth and range of human experience present in the voice, rather than assimilating voices to our own aesthetic.
In this workshop, Destructuring and Restructuring Identity will be a main focus, both physically, and conceptually. Participants will be offered an opportunity to deeply explore self, application of the work to getting in and out of character, and an immediate application of discussed concepts.
Language: This workshop will be conducted live on zoom in English. A Recording, and translation of the recording, will be available after the conclusion of the workshop.
Recording: When the workshop has concluded, a recording of will be placed on the Fitzmaurice Institute website for purchase for Trems who can not attend live. Translations of the recording will be available.
What to bring: For this workshop, we will be doing some physical destructuring and restructuring. A mat and zafu will be useful. Bring along your favorite way to take notes/document thoughts. Also useful to bring is a short bit of character based text or song you can utilize during the play section of the workshop. The workshop will also include a group tool application session.

Esta sesión de entrenamiento avanzado se ofrece para fomentar prácticas de coaching conscientes desde la perspectiva de Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Utilizando los principios de Fitzmaurice Voicework® y algunas herramientas adicionales ¿cómo podemos desarrollar empatía en nosotres mismxs y en nuestros estudiantes? ¿Qué herramientas tenemos para ser cómplices actives de las comunidades que necesitan nuestro apoyo?
En el entrenamiento de voz y habla impulsado por la justicia, se presta atención a la intersección del habla y el acento con la identidad, y se aleja de los estándares prescriptivos. Se puede utilizar la misma energía cuando se trabaja con la voz. Los "estándares" y el "rigor" en relación a la voz hablada o cantada tienden a usarse como formas de enseñar la adherencia a una estética vocal específica, llamada voz "completa, colocada hacia delante". Buscamos desentrañar la idea de una práctica rigurosa en relación a la identidad en la enseñanza y el coaching de la voz. Invitamos a la utilización y exploración de toda la profundidad y el rango de la experiencia humana presente en la voz, en lugar de asimilar las voces a nuestra propia estética.
En este taller, Desestructurar y Reestructurar la Identidad será el enfoque principal, tanto física como conceptualmente. Se les ofrecerá a les participantes, la oportunidad de explorarse profundamente a sí mismos, la aplicación del trabajo para entrar y salir del personaje y una aplicación inmediata de los conceptos discutidos.
