Three-Day FV Workshop Melbourne 3

Friday 11th, Saturday 12th, Sunday 13th of February 2022 Where: Donkey Wheel House 673 Bourke St, Docklands, Melbourne Times 10 am to 4pm

Fitzmaurice Voicework® is a comprehensive, holistic approach to voice training. Originally developed for actors, to support them in using their unique voices—in healthy, clear, and creative ways—while developing greater freedom and presence. This is a 3-Day Workshop that brings together certified teachers of Fitzmaurice Voicework® to share their knowledge and love for Fitzmaurice Voicework® with those who have some experience of the work and anyone who is curious to find out more. ‘Fitzmaurice Voicework® was developed by Catherine Fitzmaurice to enable actors to be more playful and present; allowing the breath and voice to be reactive to the needs of the body. The work combines adaptations of classical voice training techniques with modifications of yoga, shiatsu, bioenergetics, energy work, and many other disciplines. This integration serves to harmonize the voluntary and involuntary aspects of the nervous system, and the voice. Fitzmaurice Voicework® is divided into three sections: Desctrucring, Restructuring and Play. Destructing offers a practice aimed at releasing holding patterns and physical tensions in the body so that you can gain greater access and freedom to your breath and sound. Restricting focuses on how the breath and the thought in the present moment can inform your connection to the text, creating a free from inhibition performance with ease and clarity. Play, is when we put everything together so that we can send our voice into the space with great ease, clarity, and intention. The course is designed for people from all walks of life who would like to breathe and speak in the most effective and efficient way that their bodies are capable of producing. Dates Friday 11th, Saturday 12th, Sunday 13th of February 2022 Where: Donkey Wheel House 673 Bourke St, Docklands, Melbourne Times 10 am to 4pm Overall sketch of Topics Day One: an exploration of destructuring. Day Two: going deeper into destructuring and introducing restructuring. Day Three: action; putting the destructuring and restructuring into speech. Taught by Fabio Motta (Certified Fitzmaurice Voicework teacher), Budi Miller (Fitzmaurice Voicework Asia/Pacific regional director, Head of Acting VCA), and other Associate Fitzmaurice Voicework teachers.
