Teresa Spencer has been making theatre in the Baltimore-Washington Corridor as an actor, writer, and vocal and movement coach for over a decade. Heightened form is her jam: kinetic, iambic, devised, and dissident. She is a company member with the DC dance-music-theatre ensemble Taffety Punk Theatre Company and a resident artist with Cincinnati-based multimedia arts company Walterhoope. Teresa’s ensemble performance and devising work has been nominated for three Helen Hayes Awards.
Teresa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts at Towson University and holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Shakespeare Theatre Company's Academy for Classical Acting at the George Washington University. She is a Certified Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®, a Society of American Fight Directors Advanced Actor Combatant, and a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher with over 1,000 studio teaching hours.
