Patricia Skarbinski is a Polish-born, American-trained actor, director and teacher. She currently serves as Head of Movement for the BFA/MFA Acting Programs at Northern Illinois University, where she teaches movement and directs productions. She also coaches actors privately in the greater Chicago area. She has trained extensively in the Meisner technique as well as various physical theater modalities such as the Williamson Physical Training for the Actor, the Michael Chekhov Technique, the Grotowski tradition, and period style work. Patricia is also a certified Yoga instructor. Patricia continues to be an active investigator of presence, play and embodied imagination and was granted the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship (to Poland), where she worked with theatre artists such as Krystian Lupa and K. Warlikowski.
