Mannette Antill is a Los Angeles actor and teacher offering private classes and consultations to actors and those in business, the law, teaching and other professions where the effective use of the voice is essential. She began Fitzmaurice Voicework as a member of the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum. She also trained in Alexander Technique with Jean Louis Rodrique and Krisoff Konrad, in the voicework of Nadine George at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and in the voicework of Arthur Lessac at Santa Monica College. She has trained at Seydways Studios in the “trigger method” of Richard Seyd and in improv work at the Groundlings and iOWest. She transitioned from many years in the practice of law to professional performance. While practicing law, she served as a prosecutor, private litigator and as corporate council with Fortune 500 corporations. In addition to the Theatricum Botanicum, she has worked the Group Rep Theater, One Axe Plays, the Glendale Theatre Center, and in various film productions. She was awarded a Best Actress award at the international Fan Film Festival in 2016 and appeared in the short film Room Tones screened in 2016 at the Cannes Film Festival. As she pursued Fitzmaurice Voicework, she (and directors) discovered the depth, fullness, warmth, richness and deeper tone of voice as well as the transformation wrought in a more profound connection to voice, text, and audience available through this work. Thus she shares this work with all who desire to communicate clearly, effectively, easily, and powerfully to achieve their goals. She is a member of VASTA (Voice and Speech Teachers Association).
