Brianne Taylor is the Assistant Professor of Voice at West Virginia University, a voice and dialect coach, and a performer. She utilizes the work in development of breath awareness, vocal structuring, authenticity in the speaking voice that is aligned with the individual’s artistic voice, and creative approaches to performance and writing. Her study of the expressive voice has led the development of her one woman show, Keeper of the Plains: an exploration of the femme voices of the masculine, agricultural dominated American Great Plains. She is also a mother and is engaged in the study of how the female body and voice changes over the various courses of life.
Select credits include Ciao Bambino (NYC); Comedy of Tenors and the National Players 70th Tour at Olney Theatre Center; King Lear (film, WVU and West Virginia Public Broadcasting, regional Emmy nomination); Curious Incident, Sherlock Holmes: the Final Adventure, A Christmas Carol (WV Public Theatre); Bright Star, Right to Be Forgotten, Indecent, The Skriker, Airness, Hedda Gabbler, Mud, Cloud 9 (WVU). She has performed professionally (We Are Pussy Riot, Everything You Touch) at The Contemporary American Theater Festival and with various companies in Washington, DC.
Brianne is a Certified Teacher of Knight-Thompson Speechwork, a member of Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA), and an Equity Membership Candidate.
