Michelle Lopez-Rios is a teatrista, teacher and activist. She is a co-founder of the Royal Mexican Players with Alvaro Saar Rios and together they have offered workshops, devised community productions, and produced original works around the U.S. Her one-woman show 500 Years was developed in Bogotá at the Freedom & Focus Conference. Michelle was honored to devise and direct a live multimedia performance of 371 Productions’ Precious Lives, the popular weekly podcast about gun violence and young people in Milwaukee. She has served as a voice & dialect coach for Steppenwolf Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Goodman Theatre, Houston Shakespeare Festival and Milwaukee Rep. She is an Associate Professor and Artistic Director of Chicago Playworks at The Theatre School at DePaul.
