Melanie was a member of the fourth Certification class of Fitzmaurice Voicework. She is a full-time faculty member at Temple University in their Department of Theater, where she has taught since 2008. She moved to Philadelphia to join the Acting faculty after working for three years at the University of California at Davis. She teaches Speech, Voice, Dialects, and Acting, including the undergraduate and graduate acting classes that focus on Shakespeare. In 2017, she won the Senior Faculty Teaching award at Temple. In addition to her theater teaching, she has been a member of the Yoga Alliance since 2006. She is also a member of the Actors' Equity Association, and is a frequent freelance actor and vocal coach.
