Matthew Dudley studied at Trinity College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has taught on and led professional training and degree programmes for over 15 years and is currently Lecturer in Acting at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) where he teaches and leads modules in Voice, Singing, Acting Techniques and Cultural Perspectives. Matthew has directed plays and musical theatre, and has been Voice Coach for several productions at LIPA. He has delivered workshops throughout the UK, has collaborated in the writing of new degree programmes, and has taught on the Fitzmaurice Voicework Certification Programme. Matthew has taught voice and singing at several respected training institutions including Guildford School of Acting and Italia Conti. He has performed in Opera, Oratorio and Musical Theatre at venues such as the Royal Opera House, the Albert Hall, the Barbican, the Salzburg Festival and with Garsington Opera. His teaching is influenced by his study of classical and contemporary vocal techniques and incorporates movement work, mindfulness and ideas related to the psychology of performance. Matthew's study of integrative psychotherapy continues to support his research into the psychotherapeutic nature of professional actors’ training.
