Mariah Reed has taught voice and acting classes at Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University, and at Broward College where she is a tenured faculty member. Mariah toured the continental United States as a lead actress with the National Shakespeare Company, and afterwards appeared in a number of Off- and Off-off Broadway productions, touring theatre presentations, and independent films. One of her assignments brought her to Florida where she founded two Equity theatre companies (the New River Repertory and The Drama Center). Mariah continues to work professionally while sharing with students what she has learned through her educational experiences as well as her hands-on adventures as a working actress. A certified voice and dialect coach, Mariah has coached actors on a variety of accents and dialects for theatre, film and television. Collegiately, she teaches Voice, Movement, Acting, Audition Technique, Shakespeare’s Verse Text, Performance Lab classes, and On-Camera Acting Technique.
