Refer to her website for an overview of her numerous award winning clients in film, television, and theater—both freelance, and at various studios & universities—that Katie has coached. Katie is currently the Head of Vocal Production at Atlantic Studio NYU/TISCH, and the founder of Whole Body Voice. In addition to her work as a vocal production coach for the speaking voice, Katie is also a critically acclaimed jazz singer, composer (BMI), and recording artist; the Artistic Director of The Bull Family Orchestra an inter-arts theater company; a published playwright; and a jazz writer. Katie grew up in a family of post-modern improvisational dancers and painters and is influenced by inter-arts aesthetics and improvisational process. Katie explores the integration of Fitzmaurice Voicework® with the central premise that the whole body speaks. She received a NARAS Grammy Nomination Consideration in 2011. Her album All Hot Bodies Radiate was voted #6 on the NPR Jazz Critics Top Ten Poll for Best Jazz Album, 2015. An IRB certified graduate researcher in 2016, Katie's inter-disciplinary thesis on the phenomenon of vocal fry titled "Fried: The Sound of the 21st Century" is available on the NYU/Gallatin Graduate Thesis site and intended for wider publication. Currently certifying in the Feldenkrais Technique©, she is a NYC8 Feldenkrais© AssociateTeacher. Katie splits her time between the Woodstock area of the Catskill mountains in upstate New York and Harlem, Manhattan. She is the mother of Hannajane & Hudson and an organic gardener, dedicated to sustainable micro-farming and environmental advocacy.
