Dr. Joan Melton is a leading researcher in cross-disciplinary performance techniques and a pioneer in the integration of singing and voice-movement training for the actor. Currently based in New York City, she is the author of One Voice: Integrating Techniques across Performance Disciplines (3rd Ed, Waveland 2022), with Dr. Kenneth Tom, and of Dancing with Voice: A Collaborative Journey across Disciplines (Voice Theatre Solutions 2015), and Singing in Musical Theatre: The Training of Singers and Actors (Allworth 2007). Joan has taught at leading centers of drama and music in the US, UK, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, and is an Emeritus Professor, CA State University Fullerton. She is also a composer for productions in a wide range of media, co-founder and Director of One Voice Centre for Integrative Studies (www.joanmelton.com), and an Artistic Associate with NY Classical Theatre.
