Catalina studied acting at La Casa del Teatro, holds MFA in Acting from Temple University and a degree in anthropology from the National University of Colombia. She has extensive experience in art and theatre for community peace processes. She has acted and taught in the United State, Canada, Austria, Spain, Chile, Ecuador, and Germany on different occasions since 2003.

A researcher of voice and singing styles from around the world, her vocal work for the stage and teaching practice revolve around research on expanded register vocal techniques and the energetic, transformative and curative dimension of voice. She carries out this work through her training and experimentation project Voz en Expansión (Expanding Voice) and currently, offers healing sound journeys that include shamanic singing and may include Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy. Also she is getting her certification on Oracular Terapéutico, a type off healing counseling practice form the Andes traditional cultures.

She has acted in over 30 productions in Colombia including collaborations with Teatro Varasanta among others. She codirected theatre pieces as part of the German program Civil Service for Peace with Afro-Colombian, rural and Indigenous communities and in neighborhoods of the periphery of Medellin, Colombia.

She is co-founder of the Barracuda Carmela Company where for 13 years she produced interdisciplinary theatre aimed at establishing spaces and conditions for putting people in direct contact with one another.

She is the only certified FV® teacher in Colombia and has been a pioneer in teaching this method to performance artists and public speakers. She was accent coach for the film Loving Pablo with Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz.

Catalina has received grants and awards from the Fulbright Commission, Ministry of Culture (Colombia), Temple University (USA), the National University of Colombia and the Bogotá Institute for the Arts (IDARTES).

Ha enseñado y actuado en Alemania, Estados Unidos, Canadá, España, Austria, Chile y Ecuador en diferentes ocasiones desde 2003. Ha sido premiada y becada por instituciones como: Ministerio de Cultura, Comisión Fulbright, Instituto Distrital para las Artes, Universidad Nacional y Temple University.
