For almost a decade, Betsy Allen introduced FV in the UK to professional actors, singers, business owners, executives, lawyers, storytellers and dancers. She taught voice, improvisational singing and self-scripting at The Arts Educational College (both the MFA program and evening courses), Kingston College, London Metropolitan University, Millenium Performing Arts, The Actors Centre, and extensively in private practice.
Her entirely unique Masters degree in Voice Pedagogy and Voice Performance completed at The Gallatin School of New York University was informed by the pedagogy of FV, working directly with Catherine and by the composer, Jonathan Hart Makwaia of the Roy Hart Theatre, specifically looking at free improvisational singing in performance and as a tool to compose new music.
Professionally, she has sang, composed performance pieces and voiced many characters on radio and TV for 20 years in London, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and New York City.
Betsy is a certified instructor of Pilates and taught for many years in the London at exercise studios, healing spaces and in the acting classroom. Currently, she consults on Skype.
