Anika Solveig is a freelance actor and teacher living in the New York City area. She most recently taught Voice and Text for California Shakespeare Theater. Anika spent 2013 in Residence with the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival where she directed several Shakespeare plays in addition to choreographing period dances for the company. Anika taught Acting, Voice and Speech at the University of California, Irvine, where she studied with Master teachers Phil Thompson and Cynthia Bassham. While in Irvine, she founded a Summer Academy for high school students preparing to be undergraduate drama majors. As an actress, Anika has performed regionally with Frank Theater at the Guthrie in Minneapolis, Shakespeare Orange County, New Swan Shakespeare Co., and with Counter-Balance Theater Co. In New York, and has also performed with Barefoot Theatre, Looking Glass, Amios, terraNOVA, and Panapoly Lab. She is a member of AEA.
